Clayton L. Griebel

Clayton Griebel, 64, of Iowa City formerly of Maquoketa passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. His service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30 at First Lutheran Church. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in St. Donatus, Iowa.

Clayton Luke was born on December 11, 1959 in Iowa City to Marvin and Florine (Wolfgram) Griebel Sr.. He attended school in Maquoketa and attended DAC. Clayton was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. You could always find him dancing or eating, both of which he loved. Clayton enjoyed watching old time TV shows and WWE Wrestling. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He would sit for hours and print. Animals of any kind were special to him especially horses and cows. He was a kind soul and will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings; Sharon Yoerger, East Dubuque, Ill., Linda Mussmann, Teeds Grove, Julia (Wayne) Franzen, Maquoketa, Lorraine (Kevin Kelly) Thomas, West Branch, Kathy (Rex) Duffey, Lost Nation, Nadine (Ernie) Jackson, Burlington, Ill., Tracey Griebel, Dubuque, Marvin Griebel, Jr., Dubuque, Elvin Griebel, Fairfax, Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

Clayton is preceded in death by his parents, two nephews and a niece.
